The stars do not shine themselves; this is used to mean that entertainers or athletes cannot join the star class without help of others. It’s impossible to become celebrities without those who manage and support them around the clock behind their back.

Behind South Korean figure skating icon Kim Yuna, her mother has been always with her to help, and behind soccer star Park Ji Sung, there was Guus Hiddink, a Dutch soccer coach, who uncovered his talent and supported him.

Like this, the stars does not shine themselves, instead they can shine with the support and love of someone. The same can be said of the children of God on this earth.

By pointing out the stars, God said the offspring of Abraham would be like them. Abraham is a prophetical character who represents God (John 8:37-39.) Therefore, God likened the children of God to the stars in the Verse above. Why did God refer the children of God to the stars?

Jesus, who came to the earth 2,000 years ago though He was God the Father, was the “true light.” Only those who receive the true light can be children of God. The children of God become the stars through the true light or God. The prophet Isaiah wrote that we must come to Jerusalem to become the stars of God.

In other words, Jerusalem is the source of light. At this time when the darkness covers the earth, we can become shining stars through the light of Jerusalem. Who is Jerusalem we ought to seek?

Heavenly Jerusalem is none other than our Mother: God the Mother. Like 2,000 years ago, we must come to God the Mother, the source of light, to become the children of God. Therefore, children of God have God the Father and God the Mother. They are the true stars of God. Do you want to become a star which shines for ever and ever? Those who come to God can be the stars.

NOTE: The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) believes in God the Mother as well as God the Father, Christ Ahnsahnghong, as the Savior of this age according to the teachings of the Bible.
