The principle of choice and focus is also required for our faith life. It’s because many people want to enter the kingdom of heaven while only a few can do. In limitless competition, how can we win to enter  the kingdom of heaven?

Criteria for success lies in God only. Let’s find out the way to success He teaches through the strategy of “choice and focus.”

Firstly, we have to prioritize. Our top priority in our faith life should be the “salvation of our souls.” Some may want to seek wealth and honor in this world. However, it should never take priority over our wish for heaven.

… for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls (1 Peter 1:9)

Secondly, once we have set the goal of the “salvation” as our top priority, now let’s find out the right alternative to accomplish this goal. Of course, it must be a way specified by God. For only God or the Savior can give us the salvation.

For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling (Psalms 132:13)

Look upon Zion, the city of our festivals [a place of holy festivals: New Living Translation]… There the LORD will be our Mighty One… No one living in Zion will say, “I am ill”; and the sins of those who dwell there [in Zion] will be forgiven. (Isaiah 33:20-24)

God chose Zion and said that those who dwell there can have the forgiveness of sins. It means that we can accomplish our priority goal of the salvation only when we dwell in Zion. Then, where is Zion? The prophet Isaiah said that Zion is a place of “holy festivals.” What are God’s festivals?

So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. (Matthew 26:19)

But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near… Not until halfway through the Feast [the Feast of Tabernacles] did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach. (John 7:2-14)

He [Jesus] went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read… (Luke 4:16)

Where is the place of the feasts of God? Today, only the World Mission Society Church of God observe the feasts of God in the world. Now we know where is Zion, the place of salvation. Then, what should we do next?

Thirdly, we must take away anything  that is not related to God. The Sunday service, Christmas, Thanksgiving day… All these are man-made festivals, not God’s ones. God said there is no other commandment which leads us to the salvation. Therefore, we ought to give up anything that is not related to our “salvation.”

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel– which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! (Galatians 1:6-9)

Lastly, please focus on the goal. God established Zion or the Church of God for our “salvation.” If you come to the Church of God, you can meet the Holy Spirit and the Bride, the Savior of this last age. We can receive the salvation only if we focus on the teachings of the Holy Spirit and the Bride.

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life [salvation]. (Revelation 22:17)

Choice and focus for our souls. Are you “choosing” and “focusing” on the things that God are pleased with?

NOTE: The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) does not observe Sunday service, Christmas or Thanksgiving Day. Rather, the WMSCOG observes God’s feasts including the Passover of the New Covenant according to the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavnely Mother. Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother are the Savior of this age of the Holy Spirit, whom the Bibles testifies about (Revelation 22:17.)
