Sheep are very gentle, but have some fatal shortcomings. They have very poor sight that they cannot discern things at one or two meters away. Due to their poor sight, they have no sense of direction. Moreover, they easily fall on their backs and are not able to get up by themselves. So many sheep struggle helplessly with their 4 legs in the air and die.

However fortunately, they have a keen sense of hearing, which supplements such shortcomings. They can be safe by listening to and following the voice of their shepherd using an excellent sense of hearing.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. (John 10:27)

Likewise, the people of God who will be saved are likened to sheep in the Bible. Also, the people of God, who are represented as sheep, can receive salvation and eternal life as long as they listen to and follow the voice of God, who is the shepherd. On the contrary, if they neither listen to nor follow the voice of the shepherd, they will fall over and will never get up by themselves forever. What is the voice of God we should listen to and follow?

And he said to them, “I [Jesus] have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer… And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This [the Passover bread] is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup [the Passover wine] is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you [sinners]. (Luke 22:15, 19-20)

Jesus allowed us the Passover of the New Covenant with the voice “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover.” Therefore, the feast of the Passover is the voice of God which God’s people ought to follow.  He allowed us the Sabbath day, the Feast of Tabernacles and the Day of Pentecost (Luke 4:16, John 7:2, Acts 2:1) by giving the voice “If you love me, you will obey what I command.” So such feasts also are the voice of God which we must obey.

Therefore, those who are true children of God should keep the seven feasts of three times. But, there are churches which teach that we do not need to fully follow the voice of God. They say they believe in God, but they think it’s okay to exclude such messages that they do not want to listen to, or that are different from their own thoughts.

However, our Shepherd plainly said,
My sheep listen to my voice.”
It’s a matter of obedience.
