Christ lived a life of prophecies. Before his death, the First Coming Jesus foretold that he had to be killed and be resurrected.

And he said, “The Son of Man [Jesus] must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.” (Luke 9:22)

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures… (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Jesus died according to the Bible and was resurrected according to the Bible. But Jesus also had to fulfill the prophecy about King David. David was anointed and became king at the age of thirty and reigned forty years. Christ had to get baptism, the spiritual anointment, at the age of 30 and preach the gospel for 40 years according to the prophecy of King David. However, Jesus preached the gospel for 3 years only. To complete the remaining 37 years of ministry of the prophecy of King David, His Second Coming is inevitable. The Second Coming Jesus, who is to appear to accomplish the remaining 37 years of preaching the gospel, should also fulfill the prophecy according to the Scriptures.

Then, will the Second Coming Jesus also be crucified and resurrected in three days after preaching the gospel for thirty-seven years? If there is a record in the Bible that the Second Coming Jesus would shed his blood on a cross to bear our sins and be raised to life on the third day and ascend to heaven as well, He must fulfill this prophecy. However, there are no prophecies about the shedding of blood of the Second Coming Jesus for bearing our sins and His Resurrection and Ascension. It’s because the purpose of His Second Coming is different from that of His First Coming.

Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him (Hebrews 9:28)

Two thousand years ago, Jesus came to the earth as a sacrificial offering to take away our sins. However, the purpose of His Second Coming is not to come as a sacrificial offering again. The Second Coming Jesus has come to restore the truth because the way of life, Jesus established 2000 years ago by shedding his blood, had disappeared (Revelation 5:1-5.) Then, how will the remaining 37 years of ministry of David’s throne end at His Second Coming? Let’s see the prophecy about the last days.

In the last days the mountain of the LORD’S temple [Mountain Zion] will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem… Why do you now cry aloud–have you no king? Has your counselor perished, that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor? [Why are you suffering like a woman in labor? Is it because you have no king, and your counselors are dead? — GNT] (Micah 4:1-9)

The Weekly Religion Newspaper (March 18, 1981) — The Second Coming Jesus has to come to the earth in secret and pass away after preaching the gospel for 37 years. (Please see below for the translation of the article.)

Both King and Counselor refer to God who comes in the flesh (Isaiah 9:6.) The book of Micah prophesied that the One who comes as king of Zion would die in the last days. Therefore, Christ who appears a second time in the flesh in the last days is to die to fulfill the prophecy. Christ Ahnsahnghong also foretold which prophecy He would accomplish after finishing the prophecy of 37 years of His Second Coming.

『This Church [The Church of God] believes that the Second Coming Christ is to appear in this age and that he is to appear in the flesh with eyes, nose, mouth and ears. The Church explains, “Jesus has to come a second time in the flesh because the new covenant he established at his first coming was abolished during the Dark Ages. So the Lord himself has to come again to restore the truth of life, the new covenant, and to seek his people.” “The Second Coming Jesus has to come to the earth in secret and pass away after preaching the gospel for 37 years. The reason he has to preach for 37 years is because David reigned on the throne for 40 years, but Jesus was crucified after preaching for only three years, so the Second Coming Jesus has to preach for 37 years so that he can complete the 40-year reign,” says the Church.』 (The Weekly Religion Newspaper (March 18, 1981))

Even the Bible prophesied that people, who did not know this will of God, would be gathered to ridicule and slander the truth.

Why do you now cry aloud–have you no king? Has your counselor perished, that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor? Writhe in agony, O Daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the LORD will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies. But now many nations are gathered against you. They say, “Let her be defiled, let our eyes gloat over Zion!” But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD; they do not understand his plan, he who gathers them like sheaves to the threshing floor. (Micah 4:9-12)

The Second Coming Jesus completed the 37 years of 40 years of David’s throne and passed away according to the prophecy. In addition, the prophecy “those who do not know the thoughts of God and does not understand this plan of God are gathered against Zion and say, ‘Let her be defiled'” is being exactly fulfilled by slanderers today. They themselves prove that the prophecies and plans of God are to be fulfilled without failure.

Just as only the disciples who saw the prophecies of the Bible with a pure mind could receive Jesus 2,000 years ago, so only those who see the prophecies of the Bible with a humble and pure mind will be able to receive the Second Coming Jesus in these days.
