In 1867, sovereignty over Alaska was transferred to the United States from the Russian Empire. It was one of the great bargains of all time.

For a price of $7.2 million, the USA got 365 million acres of land and another 13 million of water, at slightly less than two cents an acre. Over the last 140 years, the United States has taken untold riches in gold, oil, and other minerals out of the ground and billions of dollars worth of fish out of the surrounding waters.

Why did Russia sell Alaska so cheap? It’s because Russia did not realize the true value of Alaska at that time. Whoever does not know the preciousness of something tends to choose a wrong option like this case.

The sign of salvation, the forgiveness of sins, the promise of eternal life…

The New Covenant contains tremendous blessings which we cannot imagine! So Jesus said, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer (Luke 22:15.)”  Through this, we can understand how precious the Passover is. Jesus proclaimed the Passover as “the New Covenant” and promised us the forgiveness of sins and eternal life (John 6:53-54.)

Luke ch 22 and others

Jesus established the Passover of the New Covenant with the bread and wine which represents His flesh and blood, and then He was crucified the next day. Jesus gave The Passover of the New Covenant as His will.

Hebrews ch 9 verse 15 NIV

Let’s look at the King James Version (KJV):

Hebrews ch 9 verse 15 KJV

Jesus left the Passover of the New Covenant as His will. And He eagerly desired to keep the Passover. Why? It’s because we, the sinners, can have the forgiveness of the sins and enter the kingdom of heavens only through the Passover of the New Covenant. We must fathom the value of the New Covenant and celebrate it by following the will of Jesus Christ. Today, the Passover of the New Covenant is kept only by the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) in accordance with the teachings of Jesus. Thanks to Christ Ahnsahnghong for allowing us the New Covenant for our salvation.
