Death. It applies to all people born on this earth whether they are rich or not, or famous or not. Lots of people have made every effort to escape death, but in vain. It’s because it cannot be solved with the wisdom and effort of this world. The way to escape death can be found only in the Bible.

The Bible contains many parables. Among them, the secret of breaking the chain of death is hidden in the parable of the Garden of Eden written in the book of Genesis. God allowed Adam and Eve to live in the Garden of Eden and placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And He forbade Adam and Eve from eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

However, Adam and Eve committed a sin by violating the prohibition and came to die in the end. This is the origin of death. The story of Adam and Eve is a parable, which shows symbolically how we (mankind) committed sins in heaven. In other words, we are to die because we all violated the commandment of God. Then, isn’t there any way to live? The solution to this question can also be found in the Garden of Eden.

The only way to escape death is to eat from the tree of life. The fact that Adam and Eve who committed a sin could have lived forever if they had eaten from the tree of life means that we can also have eternal life if we eat from the tree of life in the Garden of Eden. Jesus came to this earth to grant us this tree of life. Jesus Christ unveiled the reality of the tree of life in parable and said “eat it and live forever”:

The flesh and blood of Jesus is the tree of life in the Garden of Eden. How can we eat and drink the flesh and blood of Jesus?

Jesus promised, “the Passover bread is my body [flesh] and the Passover wine is my blood.” Through the Passover, He revealed the secret of the tree of life from which we can live forever. Keeping the Passover is the only method to break the chain of death.

NOTE: Today, the New Covenant including the Passover is celebrated by the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) only according to the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong.
