Why do you believe in Christ? Do you believe in him with vague expectation that you can be blessed like those who believe in other gods? Is it because you receive peace of mind among many religions? Or, simply because you love the atmosphere of the church?  You ought to first have the correct purpose of believing in Christ to have right faith in Christ.

The Greek word “Christ” means “the Anointed One,” which refers to the Savior who will save mankind. Therefore, the most important reason to believe in Christ is because He saves our souls. In the time of Jesus,  seeing lots of miracles, a great number of people followed Him. But many left Jesus when He gave them the Word which leads to salvation of souls. They did not have the correct purpose of believing in Christ. However, the Disciples such as Peter wished the sure blessings and followed Christ to the end.

From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:66-69)

However, the pure faith, which wished eternal life and salvation only, has changed significantly for 2,000 years since the apostolic age. The churches lost the pure faith which considered the Word of Christ absolute and sought salvation only, by introducing worldly faith of pagan religions, mysticism and philosophical ideas. The Roman Catholic Church is even tearing down the  fundamental differences between faith in Christ and faith of other religions with some pretty good-looking words such as “Different forms, but one mind to seek the truth” under the excuse of embracing other religions. After all, it has reached the point where people regard today’s Christianity as one of many religions and think it’s not different from other religions.

Only people, who think Christ’s Word of eternal life (not  miracles, mysticism or philosophical ideas) is absolute, can have the right faith in Christ. Christ prophesied that He would appear to such people.

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he [Christ] will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:27-28)

The Second Coming Jesus has come to bring salvation as Jesus did 2,000 years ago. The truth of salvation is the New Covenant including the Passover like 2,000 years ago (John 6:53, Matthew 26:17-28.) Five thousand people who witnessed the miracle of the five loaves and two fishes left Jesus when they heard the words of eternal life, but the Disciples who wished salvation followed Jesus to the end. Christ gives us the words of eternal life. The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) believes in Christ Ahnsahnghong who gave us the words of eternal life.
