Basically, the people of God do not follow someone who insists to worship a pagan god.

Because of this, the devil continues to lead the people God to destruction by saying “Let’s worship God” apparently, but making them worship idols.

In the time of Exodus from Egypt, the Israelites worshiped a golden calf by saying “These are your gods”, and they specified a festival as they pleased and celebrated it by saying “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the LORD.”

He [Aaron] took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.” When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the LORD.” So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry. (Exodus 32:4-6)

They worshiped God with their lips while worshiping idols. This became sin. As a result, the tablets of the Ten Commandments were broken into pieces and about three thousand of the people died. Also, after Israel divided into two kingdoms, Jeroboam of the Northern Kingdom of Israel made golden calves by saying “Here are your gods” and celebrated a day of his own choosing as the festival of God.

After seeking advice, the king made two golden calves. He [King Jeroboam] said to the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”… On the fifteenth day of the eighth month, a month of his own choosing, he offered sacrifices on the altar he had built at Bethel. So he instituted the festival for the Israelites and went up to the altar to make offerings. (1 Kings 12:28-33)

They worshiped God with their lips, but the act was idolatry. This became sin and the Northern Kingdom of Israel was destroyed by Assyria.

However, today’s churches also say that they worship God while keeping Sunday, the worship day of sun-god, and Christmas, the birthday of sun-god. In addition, they set festivals as they please and kept them by saying “They are the festivals of God.” The past history proves that such acts become sin, which leads to their destruction.

The puff fish is famous for being poisonous. Those who eat the eggs of the puffer fish die. People know this fact because many people who ate them died. What will happen if someone knowingly eats the eggs of this fish? He surely dies even if he eats them on the off chance that he might not die. The Bible teaches us that the act of idolatry leads to their destruction while they worship God with their lips. Just as those who eat the eggs of the puffer fish die, so those who take the path of destruction of their souls are sure to be destroyed.

The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) does not keep man-made festivals such as Sunday service, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving Day, etc. Instead, the Church of God observes the feasts of the New Covenant such as the Passover and the Sabbath day by following the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong who is the Savior of this age of the Holy Spirit.
The World Mission Society Church of God observes the feasts of the New Covenant, NOT those of the Old Covenant. Please refer to this page.
