The Feasts of the New CovenantThe Apostle Paul wrote the Galatians as follows:

You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you. (Galatians 4:10-11)

Some people claim that the Passover and the Sabbath do not need to be observed by citing this above Verse and they oppose the New Covenant preached by the World Mission Society Church of God. Did the Apostle Paul really say that the Passover and the Sabbath day of the New Covenant did not need be celebrated?

As his custom was, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures (Acts 17:2)

Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast–as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival [the Passover]… (1 Corinthians 5:7-8)

The Apostle Paul kept the Sabbath day and the Passover. Does it make sense that he told others not to celebrate feasts while he kept them? Then, what does Galatians 4:10 mean? Considering the words of the book of Galatians as a whole, it means that we must not keep the Old Covenant any longer because Jesus made the New Covenant. There are two kinds of covenants in the Bible: the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. The Old Covenant was established by Moses, and the New Covenant was established by Jesus.

For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant [the old covenant], no place would have been sought for another [the new covenant]. But God found fault with the people and said: “The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. (Hebrews 8:7-8)

The Apostle Paul did not say that they should not keep the feasts of the New Covenant established by the blood of Jesus. He said that “they should not celebrate the days and months and seasons and years of the Old Covenant.”

But now that you know God–or rather are known by God–how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles [the Old Testament Law]? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you. (Galatians 4:9-11)

Those weak and miserable principles mean the Old Testament Law which had been observed before Jesus appeared (Galatians 3:24.) However, the opposers insist that the New Covenant does not also need to be kept by citing the Verse which indicates that the Old Covenant should not be observed.

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup [The Passover wine] is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. (Luke 22:20)

If someone re-establishes something abolished by Jesus, he contends against Jesus. In the same way, if someone abolishes something established by Jesus, he also goes against Jesus. Those who say that they believe in Jesus and oppose the New Covenant Passover, are disturbing Jesus’ Work of Redemption.

Today, only the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCoG) observes the feasts of the New Covenant including the Passover, which was restored by Christ Ahnsahnghong according to the prophecy of the Bible. Please refer to this page for more information.
