Incorrect reporting on People.com about the World Mission Society Church of God

Michele Colon claims that the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) is a “doomsday cult” that “brainwashed” her and ruined her marriage in a recent article at People.com. Is her claim correct? In conclusion, she is incorrect about the WMSCOG.

Firstly, even the Supreme Court repeatedly ruled that “the insistence that the Church of God spreads a time-limited eschatology and causes families to break up is false.” Please see this article at the Cult Research Center.

Please also refer to this article titled “Supreme Court rules that no evidence supports the allegation of family breakup by the Church of God (Case no. 2006Do1356).”

Secondly, her claim that the Church of God ruined her marriage is also a lie. On the contrary, the Church tried to help her to continue the marriage. It’s Michele Colon who ruined her marriage. Please see the following posts where you can read the story of her ex-husband:

From the story of Colon’s former spouse, you will realize that it was Michele Colon who destroyed her marriage.

Lastly, her insistence that the WMSCOG brainwashed her also does not make sense at all. It was also Colon who attended the Church first. Michele led her ex-husband to the Church. I am surprised at her claim about brainwashing by the Church of God. It’s very similar with the insistence of self-proclaimed “cult experts” such as Steven Hassan. Please watch the following video, which shows the lies of former members:

The following video shows that the criteria used by so-called cult experts are invalid:

The absolute criteria for decision should be the Bible not such man-made tools such as BITE mode of Steven Hassan.

The members of the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) do their best to follow the teachings of Elohim God — Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother. And they are willing to share love with neighbors to make the world better.

There are many churches around the world but we sometimes hear bad scandals about churches or pastors in media. However, through good deeds, the Church of God was awarded with the President’s Call to Service Award from Barack Obama (2011, 2014, 2015) as well as the Korean Presidential Citation Award (the highest award given to an organization in Korea.)

The WMSCOG obeys the teachings of God without adding to or removing from them. Some people spread malicious rumors against the Church of God. However, the courts repeatedly confirmed that their claims are incorrect. Moreover, due to good deeds of the members, the World Mission Society Church of God has received many awards including the Korean Presidential Citation Award.

I hope you will not be deceived the lies of critics. There is a saying “Seeing is believing”. Please come and see whether the WMSCOG is good or bad with your own eyes. As there is a saying “Seeing is believing”
