Some people claim that the Second Coming of Jesus is not needed because Jesus said “It is finished,” in order to deny the mission of the Second Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong believed in by the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG). Then, didn’t Jesus carry out the Work of Redemption any longer after He said, “It is finished”?
After Jesus, who had said “It is finished” and then died, was resurrected, He appeared to the disciples over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God to continue His Work of Redemption. In addition, He poured out the Spirit onto the disciples and apostles, and led the history of the Spirit. In other words, He continued His Work of Redemption even after He said, “It is finished.”
Then, what does “It is finished” mean? It means that Jesus accomplished all prophecies of the Bible which had to be done through the Crucifixion. Jesus said, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working.” His Redemption Work will be complete when the eternal rest, prophesied in the book of Revelation, comes. Therefore, those who claim that there cannot be mission of the Second Coming because Jesus said “It is finished” deny God’s Work of Redemption since the Crucifixion.
The witness of the Apostle Paul proves that Christ must come again. How will they understand this evidence of Paul?
So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:28)
